Welcome to the Friends of Portage Lakes State Park!
The Friends are organized to foster a partnership between outdoor enthusiasts and Portage Lakes State Park that ensures a better place for nature and wildlife education, while setting high conservation standards and raising a strong sense of responsibility for future generations.
Our meetings are held on the third Thursday of every month at 7:00 PM. We are currently meeting in the Portage Lakes Kiwanis Civic Center at 725 Portage Lakes Dr, Akron, OH 44319. New members are always welcome. Our next meeting is Thursday, April 15, 2010. Call (330) 731-1758 with questions.
Chase Your Shadow 5k
The First Annual Chase Your Shadow 5k was held on Saturday, March 13. Rain didn't deter 159 runners and walkers from having a great time at the race. Results are available at the two links below.

Friends of Portage Lakes State Park is an exempt organization under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code effective October 22, 2009. Contributions to Friends are deductible under section 170 of the Code.
