Welcome to the Friends of Portage Lakes State Park!
The Friends are organized to foster a partnership between outdoor enthusiasts and Portage Lakes State Park that ensures a better place for nature and wildlife education, while setting high conservation standards and raising a strong sense of responsibility for future generations.
Our next meeting is Thursday, August 19, 2010. We will begin at 6:30 PM and the meeting will be held Ohio Division of Wildlife District 3 Headquarters on Myers Island at 912 Portage Lakes Drive, Akron OH 44319.
Our meetings are usually held on the third Thursday of every month at 7:00 PM.

Chase Your Shadow 5k
The First Annual Chase Your Shadow 5k was held on Saturday, March 13. Rain didn't deter 159 runners and walkers from having a great time at the race. Results are available at the two links below.
