Message from Park Management
Welcome visitors to the Friends of Portage Lakes State Park webpage. I can’t say enough about this group. One year ago, they only talked of doing great things. That all changed a few months back and instead of talking they started doing! They are such a great joy to work with and to watch as their enthusiasm grows. The group has such a great diversity of talents, many of which I am sure are still hidden.
I encourage interested people to come and join this great team of dedicated volunteers. Ohio State Parks could not provide the numerous special events they have without volunteers. They are a vital part to providing that outdoor recreational experience that exceeds the expectation of the park visitor. When ever you see one of our volunteers at a special event, please be sure to shake their hand and tell them thank you!!
